From 1 January 2012 individual licences for all sectors will be reduced from £245 to £220. The reduction applies to both new applicants and those renewing existing licences. Licence holders applying for a discounted second licence after this date will pay 50% of the new reduced fee.

Security Training Centre Approval Withdrawn An east London training centre has had its approval to provide security qualifications withdrawn following a multi-agency investigation. Edexcel carried out forensic analysis of test papers, which revealed evidence that papers were being fraudulently completed. A wide-scale random enforcement operation on security staff was carried out by SIA investigators on Thursday [09 June]. 100 sites in Belfast, Lisburn, Southampton and Nottingham were visited as part of Operation Alexander, which was carried out to test compliance amongst operatives working in security roles.
