Why is the course important/ Course Overview
This qualification is designed for those in the associate teacher role in a College, Adult and Community Learning Centre or Work Based Learning Centre.
Qualification structure
There are 3 mandatory units:
- Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (6 credits)
- Planning and Enabling Learning (9 credits)
- Principles and Practice of Assessment (3 credits)

None
Assessment:
Learners must complete:
- Assignments
- 30 hours of teaching practice including 3 observations totaling 3 hours
Additional Information
This qualification can be delivered using a ‘blended approach’ reducing abstraction and enabling a more systematic approach.
Refresher/ Development Training:
This qualification is a follow on from the PTLLS award and CPD is always recommended.
