Security Guard SIA Lv 2
Course Overview
The Award in Security Guarding is a programme designed to meet the needs of learners requiring a qualification enabling the application for an SIA licence for security guarding. It is based on the core competency training for security guards covering the necessary understanding of the security industry and subject related security functions.
Security Guarding consists of the following three mandatory units:
UNIT 1 Working in the Private Security Industry
UNIT 2 Working as a Security Officer
UNIT 3 Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry
Aim
To provide the learner with the basic knowledge and understanding required to ensure the provision of a professional level of service as a security operative and to address the SIA licensing requirements.
Duration of Course:
This course currently takes 3 days.
Previous Learning Requirements:
None
Additional Information:
Candidates must ensure they meet criminality, Identification and ‘Right to work’ criteria.
Refresher Training:
Currently no additional training will be required for licence renewal in 3 years from being granted a licence.
