Why is the course important/ Course Overview
This Award in Disability awareness has been developed for candidates who wish to:
- Understand the wider context of disability and how this should be put into practice in the workplace
- Develop knowledge and understanding of the differences between disability and impairment
- Acquire an understanding of the social model of disability
- Explore the barriers that are faced by disabled people
- Gain an understanding of the duties and legislative acts that have been introduced to ensure disabled people are not discriminated against.

One multiple-choice test consisting of 15 questions
Additional Information
This is an essential qualification for anybody who has a position of authority or for organisations that wish to promote the ‘Neutral Working Environment’. It can also be used as a demonstration of Continued Personal Development.
Refresher/ Development Training:
It is recommended this course is revisited every two years.
